ABOUT US

Our Culture Of Care

Homelands Kennels & Cattery has been owned by our family for more than 30 years. We're not the biggest place around, but we have a reputation for being friendly and caring, with experienced staff who pride themselves in looking after your pet as if it was their own.

Homelands ensure your animals don’t just have a place to stay, they actually enjoy themselves and are entertained. We socialise the animals, promoting the ability to play in groups and they get out for exercise at least three times each day.

We encourage our staff to interact with all the animals, whether it’s playing, bathing (for dogs!), grooming or simply cuddles. We’ll happily take you and your pet for a tour round before you decide to stay (please remember to bring your current vaccination certificate(s)).

If you have any specific requirements, young, old, requiring medication or physically challenged or the like, we’re more than happy to meet your individual needs.

Come and meet our manager Kathryn, she’ll be happy to show you around.

If you are booking for the first time, you will need to complete the New Customer Form. You can download a copy, scan it and email it to us at homelandskennels@gmail.com or bring the completed form with you at your first visit.

Hope to see you soon.

Alyson and Adrian, Owners, Homelands Kennels & Cattery.

Kathryn – Kennels Manager

Kathryn joined Homelands as manager in April 2014. Kathryn has always had a passion for animals and has worked in boarding kennels and catteries for over 10 years. She also has a psychology degree, and in her spare time breeds and trains horses. She is really enjoying the job and getting to know the large number of regular animals and their human families. When you meet Kathryn you will also get to meet her Swedish Valhund, Lucy, as she follows Kathryn absolutely everywhere! To contact Kathryn directly for any matter other than bookings you may email her directly at manager.homelendskennels@gmail.com

Rachelle - Assistant Manager

Rachelle has worked at Homelands for over 8 years and is the assistant manager. She is just as passionate about the job as she was the first day she started. Rachelle enjoys caring for animals and has always had a particular interest in animal behaviour. Every day they teach her something new and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She has also previously been a cat / kitten fosterer for the Kapiti SPCA. She owns two English Staffordshire terriers, one of whom is usually snoozing in the office somewhere, feel free to say hi! She also has two cats and some chickens.
